Making Martial Arts Accessible and Relevant to Your Needs
Hikaru Dojo Martial Arts Academy was established mid 2000 to make the martial arts accessible and relevant to the community at large.
The academy comprises of a group of martial art instructors from a wide range of systems. Their mission was to draw from their network of highly-ranked and skilled individuals to offer a range of innovative training courses and public speaking resources for corporations and individuals alike.
Topics covered most often focus on issues of empowerment and victimisation. Some of the things we do:
- Anti-Bully: A consulting tool focusing on the health of policy-making and management within organisations drives courses to help teachers, community leaders and parents develop resiliency in children. Children are taught conflict resolution, essential skills to break the bully cycle, and non-violent non-lethal physical self defence tactics.
- Women Self Defence: Not all bad things are done by bad people! Which makes women self defence one of the most difficult topics to cover. We help participants identify the options available to them, develop an action plan of what to do, and physical tactics to help them overcome larger opponents.
- Building Resiliency: People often look toward the martial arts as a magic bullet, hoping to acquire easy skills to disable a would be attacker. Building resiliency through the martial arts is not about such wishful thinking. Creating a black belt mentality requires you to hone your mind and spirit.
Following participation in courses and workshops, individuals can pursue training in the martial arts here in Perth (or elsewhere in Australia) through the various sportive, traditional or combat schools led by participating instructors. We encourage you to subscribe yourself to our updates to keep
